SIIX Corporation, Japan's largest Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) provider, will invest in 101 AutoTech (美鑫車用控股), an automotive aftermarket (AM) company jointly established by 16 Taiwanese auto parts manufacturers and related firms. The investment amount has not been disclosed. The move aims to expand sales of Taiwanese AM parts in the Japanese market.

This was revealed on October 15 during a regular meeting of the "Automobile Parts Industry Alliance" (車用零組件產業聯盟). SIIX's Taiwanese subsidiary, SIIX Taiwan Co., Ltd., will acquire a stake in 101 AutoTech.

According to SIIX, Japan's automotive parts and accessories market is valued at 3 trillion yen, of which half—1.5 trillion yen—consists of maintenance parts. There are approximately 80 million vehicles in operation in Japan, 5 million of which are imported cars.

Shigeru Ochiai, General Manager of SIIX Taiwan, expressed enthusiasm: "While Japanese cars may prefer Japanese-made parts, parts for European cars are manufactured in China and Taiwan. If that's the case, it makes sense to sell them directly from Taiwan."

101 AutoTech was established in July this year with investments from 16 Taiwanese automotive parts makers, including Grand Automotive (automotive door handles), Jet Optoelectronics (in-vehicle monitors), and Fuzetec Technology (circuit protection components). The company aims to operate a B2B platform for overseas buyers and engage in the U.S. automotive AM business to support its investors' commercial activities.

It has partnered with Dorman Products, one of North America's largest suppliers of non-consumable automotive AM parts, planning to leverage Dorman's established distribution network and strong brand presence in the United States.

Exiting to Exhibit in Tokyo in March

SIIX is Japan's leading EMS provider with annual sales of approximately 300 billion yen, with automotive electronics as one of its core businesses. In 1970, it stationed representatives in Taiwan, and in 1978 established the Taipei subsidiary of Sakata Inx Hong Kong (later spun off into SIIX). This entity became the current SIIX Taiwan in 1997. Today, it handles sales of touch panels, electronic components, and motorcycle parts.

In May this year, SIIX became the first Japanese company to join the National Innovation & Entrepreneurship Association (NiEA), an industry alliance composed of Taiwanese small, medium, and emerging auto parts manufacturers. Through its investment in 101 AutoTech, SIIX aims to act as a sales gateway for maintenance parts entering the Japanese market.

In March 2027, SIIX plans to exhibit at the "International Auto Aftermarket EXPO (IAAE)" at Tokyo Big Sight alongside several investor companies of 101 AutoTech and NiEA.

"Strengths in Component Procurement"

Liu Shih-lin, Chairman of Taiwan-based printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturer E-SENSE Group, who introduced SIIX to 101 AutoTech, noted: "Over the past 20-plus years, I have watched SIIX expand its business from consumer electronics assembly to the automotive field."

He added in praise: "In addition to manufacturing and assembly technology, SIIX possesses strong capabilities in component procurement and supply chain management. Through assembling a wide range of products, they have built relationships with numerous suppliers, so companies can also consult them whenever Japanese manufacturers' components are needed."
